Turtafent

The Turtafent is a stupid and slow beast who will only move if food is in sight. That being said, it is highly favoured by merchants for its incredible strength and by defence masters for its impenetrable hide and diamond hard shell. This also makes it a favoured mount in the army due to its tank like structure. Two horns on its head protect it from immediate attack and if sufficiently threatened it will withdraw into its shell, leaving only its spiked tail out in hope the opposer will step on or attempt to eat it so that the spikes cause the predator pain. Due to the smooth surface of its shell plates saddles are able to easily stick to its surface using suction. Directing it from the saddle is done by moving a rod connected to turtafage root which happens to be the turtafents favourite food, hence luring it in that direction. Most Turtafage roots (as seen in the picture in front of the face) are approximately half the size of a man. The turtafent itself is far bigger(as is evident in the picture) and can easily carry heavy burdens. Each Turtafents shell is different, giving each one a unique appearance and making them easily identifiable.
